Galaxy

I really love the statement of darker colors. A challenge to work with them sometimes as it is hard to predict how colors will cure together. I had to lighten this one a bit. It is so rich and I really love incorporating a galaxy theme in my paintings. Infinite universe!

 I created this one for a good friend. All she said was "I want green.". Just green. Hmm. There are so many greens! I am a fan of lime and mint greens in paintings. I feel they are underused and underappreciated in the pop that they can add. I used a lime green and an aquamarine in this galaxy swirl. So neat in the way that the swirl adds so much depth. I only got to take the one pic while it was wet. She came to check on it and would not let it go. I am so glad that she loved it. She says that it fits perfectly in her home. She's a bit shy and did not want to share a picture of where it is hanging so maybe when I visit I can get a shot of it.
